Guys,
I installed (upgrade) Logic Pro 7 from Logic Pro 6.x and it's only recently I have noticed, a few months in, that I have lost a lot of Space Designer presets, such as the Lexicon and brand-name vintage hardware emulations.
How would I reinstall them and off what disk? I'm afraid of erasing the Logic 7 updates, and then entering a never-ending cycle of erasing presets as I attempt to reload from either appropriate disk.
I also thik that I have lost some EXS-24 sounds.
Appreciate any help.
Sincerely,
Simon Binks [[edit LPM: never insert your email in full in the forum, there's a SAFE email link on you member card, we don't give your email to spammers, don't give it to them ;)]

Thanks for your reply. All I find in library/audio/plug-ins are the basic components for the general plug in, no presets. There is no component for Space Designer there. In the second location, there is a Space Designer folder but it is empty. I dunno. How do I reinstall without entering an erasing cycle? There are EXS samples in the second location but I don't think they are complete. It will take a while to verify. Appreciate your help. Take a look in library/audio/plugins for the presets, then Library /application support/logic/exsinstuments and exs samples.

QUOTE (Dr. simonjbinks @ Thu 28 Sep 2006, 00:43) How do I reinstall without entering an erasing cycle? All of my Space designer presets are in /Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/Space Designer The impulse response files are in /Library/Application Support/Logic/Impulse Responses. that is the root library and not my user library. My user library's Space Designer folder just contains patches I've created. you should be able to just run the installer again and files that are missing (if they are really missing) should be replaced. this will NOT correct permissions issues or file corruption.

All of the 'brand named' stuff was removed in Logic Pro 7. Apple rarely makes mention of any brand names within their products. There are also less impulses in 7 leading me to further speculate that there might have been problems, maybe bugs, with some of the first round of Space Designer impulses. Oh yeah, lastly, seems like they renamed impulses too. The Logic 7 presets and impulses are better named and organized than in Logic 6. For one, the names reflect their duration, which is very helpful. Anyhow, I don't miss the old library, but it sounds like you can always install the Logic 6 impusles/presets back in, right? I'm guessing you'll get a lot of duplicated files if you do that. b_stone
