Hi guys, I just picked up a Firebox and Mackie Control Universal. I'm trying to hook everything together with a Yamaha Motif ES8 and G5 running Logic. I'm confused where the MIDI cables go. Right now, this is how things are hooked up:
Firebox MIDI in/out cables <---> Mackie Motif ES8 outputs TRS<--->TRS Firebox in
This can't be right, because it seems that the midi cables on the MOTIF need to be in the mix somehow. Do I need an AIEB2 board for the Motif? What do I do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did I get the wrong control surface? I did my research, and the Mackie came out on top. Should I have gone for the 01X instead?
As for the sound card, did I make the right choice with the Firebox?

You need a MIDI interface, as I think it'd be rather short on ressource to have both a Motif and a Mackie CU on one MIDI i/o. On the interfaces, you picked up some great stuff, lets use it! The Yamaha would have made more all in one but it doesn't suit to everyone, personal taste question. The only thing you need now is at least another MIDI I/O to plug the Motif in.
