i apologise for posting in two forums, but im new around theese here parts and after i posted in the os9 forum i saw the hardware forum which i realised was probably the place i should have gone to first. i promise not to let it happen again.

thanks for the pointer to translator. it looks like it'll do what i want but not yet, and as comedy dictates, i need to get the disk translated by thursday - not my fault, i was asked to help on monday! so it looks like re-sampling the lot! fun fun fun!

ok, this sounds like an emergency. unsure.gif
there's a little program called mpc to aif convert that i could email you before thursday, once converted to aif you could use pretty much anything to then convert to s1/3000 format.
also, interpreter from gallery software. i've succesfully used this to do exactly what you're trying to do. wink.gif
otherwise, one of two things might work.
1. akai uses a dos format. format a zip as dos, load it into the mac and using resedit or file typer/change file attribute or something similar, manually change the file suffix, get the picture?
2. transferstation or akai's very own mesa might do it!
good luck, later...

cheers, ill have a look at interpreter but i suspect that it will still be a case of resampling cos ive got to leave for work in two hours and my flatmate (who im trying to sort this out for) says the new sampes sound fine and if theyre going to give him four days to do what they should have done two weeks ago then let them suffer - which im prepared to go with as ive got things of my own to get on with (and not cos im lazy!) but if they decide to spring this on him again then ill know what to do.

once again thanks for your help damann.
