I'm using a G4 powerbook 1.67 80G with a 5400 rpm harddrive. I just ordered 2 G of ram and i was wondering if a 7200 rpm internal harddrive would help my powerbook's performance? I use this with a 250 G external harddrive to record bands, and my interface has the capacity to record 12 instrument inputs at once. thanks for any advice

The main differences will be: more heat, and virtual memory will be slightly faster. now it should not make a lot of difference regarding battery life when running away from mains as 5400 and 7200 rpm drive use about the same power. Performance wise, the RAM will be way more critical.
