It was quitely noted that 10.4.5 includes the patch for the PB HR model's audio stuttering. See this link for more info:

On normal use, it seems ok, for audio/Midi I'd stay wary still.
Most noticeable thing after 24 hours of use : some window redraws are way faster (like in Safari). Now, there's a new version of ToolsX for the ones using it. OnyX seems ok. OnyX was not alright for me. I downloaded Mac OS 10.4.5 and had imediate Kernal Panics. After a three hour session of chasing the problem down. it turned out to be OnyX - the latest verson. I nuked it. Today everything is working fine - so far so good. Try MacJanitor for your daily stuff untill OnyX gets up to speed.

Dan010, have you trash the pref file of onyx? It did some mess here (no window for onyx) but after worked like a charm. Changes from 10.4.4 to 10.4.5 are "anecdotic" so the problem must have been much more stupid.
Relaying some input from the French forum: - DP 4.5 and 4.6 are ok - Logic express 7.1 and pro tools 7cs4 LE with DIGI 002 and G5 2X1.8, ok - MOTU 896HD seems to refuse to work with Logic 7.1.1 (we work on it, we're not sure it's not something else) Also, users of Logic who have still not updated using the Apple Pro Support update should really do so -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

No problem with:
- Logic 7.2 and yamaha 01X - ProTools HD 7.1.cs4 (side note, it means we have at least one user with no problems) -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

No. Now that I've calmed down, I realize that would be a good move. It was just that I was so damned angery and when I found out what was causing the problem I NUKED IT! and laughed out loud. I had beaten the box. Now DP 4.6.1 and everything else have is running fine on my Dual 2.5Ghz G5 DANO10 |
