I'm brand new to mac and am trying to transfer live recordings to my hard drive. I have the demo version of Peak but for some reason it is not recognizing my Firewire input. There seems to be no way to manually change the hardware settings except for output. The Firewire (Dazzle Bridge) works in imovie, so I know that's not the problem.
thanks! marc

audio applications are NOT the same as video applications! more information here please. transferring recordings from what? audio interface/no audio interface? peak will record digital or analogue signals, but not directly via firewire! catch you later...

Sorry, should have provided more info.
I am trying to transfer live recordings that I have made from my Sharp minidisc. According to the Peak manual, it does accept firewire, but only through compatible hardware.
The Dazzle Bridge did not come with a driver, it has input/outputs for RCA, S-video and firewire. It does fine in Imovie. In fact, I'm able to transfer music through that.
I guess the better question should be, what does one use to convert an analog source to digital... hardware and software. I bought an imic when I first bought the imac last month, but there been some annoying short buzzes.
