Hey all ive been lurking around this forum for a while and decided to get a firebox cuz it seems rite for me (singer/guitarist)
Now, I'm getting it from ebay (cept if theres a better way to get it to Australia) and theres a submit your best offer thing, and i only get one go at it blink.gif
So how much should my best offer be? oh it'll cost me about $45 for shipping...

**note** One seller sells it for $300 with free shipping and a choice of free item (which includes a tubepre which ive been eyeing, or one of the mics woulb be nice), pity they dont ship overseas! sad.gif

There is nothing wrong with an SM58 - it is the total workhorse mic & a good price to boot. It is just that there are alot of really GREAT condenser mics out there right now for the same price or cheaper. I bought a couple of great MXLs for 79 bucks. I went to the guitar center (US) & bought a couple of 500 dollar Oktava mics for 69 dollars each during a blowout sale. What are music stores like in Australia? As close as it is to China you would think that you would have access to some great electronic goods. Ebay can be alright for alot of gear but I have found I can get the same price right here at home (Oregon) sometimes & not have to pay shipping. The only downside is that going to some of these stores can be REALLY irritating (the crowd, the noise, the salesmen/idiots).

ANY electronics in australia is INCREDIBLY expensive... at the VERY least 1.5x US price, usually 2x or more... angry.gif
They do have a lot of sales though... i might drop in in the next few days to a nearby audio shop!
So as for now, how much should i be willing to pay for a firebox (or something VERY similar) in US or AUS?

Musicians friend has it for 299 bucks (US) with postage paid & they may be willing to extend credit (no payments for a year).
