Hey all, I hope you can help me with my slight problem... nothing extreme right now. I am new to the whole music and technology thing, and just bought a FireWire 410 and attached it via firewire (of course) to my computer. Installed the drivers and everything properly... followed instructions. Hooked up my M-Audio BX8a's to Outputs 1/2.
Here's the issue... The speakers (or should I say outputs) work inconsistently. There's no problem with the speakers (I've tested them)... it's the Firewire. Sometimes it'll work right from start up, sometimes it won't, and I have to unplug and replug the firewire multiple times before the output will actually work.
The other part is that, say I'm running my dvd player. It's too loud, so I instinctually hit the - (minus) key on the num padd (it's the shortcut for turning the volume down) and it cans my output. I have to do the whole unplug/replug thing.
Unfortunately the manual is no help, so I turn to my fellow forumers for assitance.
Can anyone tell me what's going on here? Or what idiosyncracy I'm not following here?? (like, do I have to follow some procedure upon startup to ensure it works 100% of the time?)
Thanks for any help, peeps!
Uvee
