Hello everyone! Got a problem.

I'm trying to automate audiotrack parameters in real time with MicroKorg midi-knobs.
Everything goes according to the manual: general automation is activated in automation window, track automation is set to "write", playback is started, automation starts writing. But as I turn the knobs, nothing happens, although the manual suggests that Pro Tools will pick up control movements automatically!
In other instances the MicroKorg works fine as a midi-controller, so it seems not guilty.

Could anyone please suggest, what the problem might be?

Does the microKorg control the panning and volume before you try to record automation? I don't know much about the microKorg but there is a little bit of setup involved in Pro Tools to get MIDI to control audio tracks.

No, it does not. I now tried to find something about setting up MIDI for audio control in the manual, but couldn't. Maybe you could suggest the chapter?

I suppose some additional info might help.

Having re-read the section in the manual on automation, I found no information about any additional setup being needed, so maybe it is mentioned elsewhere.

As for microKorg, it works fine as a MIDI controller with every other application that I had a chance to try it with - Logic and Cubase tracks read automation commands from it, and no setup tricks are necessary.

It won't be in the automation part of the manual. Check out machine control or midi machine control. It's definitely not a problem with your automation the microKorg must first be enabled so it moves the faders and pans then you can automate.

Yep, I already got to that, thanks! No solution, though.
It seems that mK cannot be enabled in the "peripherals" dialogue as a machine control device - it just doesn't appear on the list. In fact, there's only three devices on that list - Digi's Command 8, HUI and some Mackie (if I recall well). Does that mean that nothing else can be used?

Ok, I think I have the answer - and it is generally negative.
Found it on DUC after quite some searching.

Thank you for your time! )
