By all means, go with Cubase SX3...but if you do, buy a PC to do it.

Cubase is VERY poorly optimized for the Mac. You'll get a whole lot more out of it on a PC. Same with Live.

Logic isnt for everyone. I use it every day and NOTHING else makes any sense to me (I also have Live and DP installed and have used SX extensively). DP might be a good option. Its a lot more like Cubase than Logic is.

Personally, I'd go with Logic. Invest the little bit of time to get your head around it (it wont take that long, really) and then enjoy the TOTAL freedom. Plus, you get a fully optimized DAW with the best plug-in package of any DAW, Mac or PC.

I've used both and I prefer Logic, even though it still baffles me sometimes. It's a complete package - kind of like buying a Mac, you pay one price that seems expensive, but then you really don't need to spend much more unless you personally want to. If you buy Cubase, the software bundle is rubbish. Logic's software instruments are awesome, every single one of them. SX is a good sequencer, but for the Mac I would recommend Logic. Also, the learning curve is less steep for Logic now in v7 and the new manuals are pretty good reference tools (at last!).

Yes, they've finally weeded out most of the German from the English manual.

Seriously, I agree with all of the above comments. Logic isnt for everyone, but if you can take some time to learn it, its the best package out there right now.
