Hi, I'm really new at this, but I have an iMac G5 with which I run Garageband 2 on. I have an M-Audio Firewire Solo, and I run the sound through my headphones, or I would, if there was sound at all. I have downloaded the drivers for it and installed them. i have gone through all the troubleshooting techniques described in the garageband manual. I really don't know what to do. I have a crappy USB microphone that I used to record a demo, but I can't really control the gain on it so the sound peaks a lot. I would love some feedback and help. I'm also going to call Applecare. Thanks!

I don't think it has anything to do with GB. It will be something to do with your M-Audio interface. Usually it is a driver problem.. if you have just updated your OS, or are running a newer OS (Tiger) there is a good chance that M-audio does not have the correct driver for it... wait a month or two or so. I don't mean to hammer on them, but that's just the facts..
If you are shure that the drivers are good, your most likely solution lies in the prefs of the M software. Some interfaces come with software that alows you to use your interface more effectivly (alot like your stock soundcard prefs). Make certain that you have your headphones (on the interface ?) selected as an audio out.... -------------------- kaboombahchuck
