Would like to hear some feedback from users who have purchased the new Dual Core G5 PowerMacs? Very keen to get one my self and wondering how is going with Logic Pro, Ableton Live and various plugins? finding it hard to choose between the Dual Core 2.3 or the DP 2.7. Or should wait and get the quad...mmm Need something soon though. Cheers!!!

'Save the guys with the firewire interface' PCIe? I just bought a firebox. I guess I should have kept getting digests. Can you explain, le p'it martian? I just logged in to lurk and figure out which software I should get (the usual questions.) Well I haven't used it yet: waiting for tiger I thought I was getting a deal

The new G5 are all using PCI express (PCIe) for their PCI slot, there's a shortage of available cards: only high speed networking or RAID, or video and ONE for FW available now, protools|HD systems are in the making and should be there by december, no news of the others. So at the time, you have to stick to USB/FW interfaces. Apple just changed for the second time in 2 years the PCI slots, but it's in one go this time. As you have a firebox, it's not a problem, you've misunderstood me
