Hi, I realize this may sound like a dumb question, but I am just starting out with logic express. I am having a problem when creating new tracks. From the arrange window, every time I select track > create, a new track is created, but it is in the same track as the previous track in the track list, and if I try to change it from track 1 to track 2 for example, the previous track is also changed to track 2. I was reading in one of the help files about track > create with next instrument, but I dont have that option when I click the track drop down menu. The only way that I have figured out so far to get around this problem is to open the track mixer and double click on an unused track to create it. How can I create a new track from the arrange window that will actually come up as a new audio track and not be linked to the previous track?

Hi, claricussion!

I have the same problem. I'd love to hear from someone who knows this program better than I the solution to this. In my case, I created a Trilogy track (the Spectrasonics Bass instrument) and tried to create another track with a different bass sound. But every time I change the sound on one track, it changes the other track as well.

Thank you in advance to any angel out there who might know the answer to this! I'll owe you big time!

To reveal all available tracks engage the global button on the track mixer, all make sure that the button for the type of track you want to add is also engeged.

Double click on the track you want to add, and it will apppear in the arrange window.

I think that's happening because they are both on the same channel. After you've created the new track, you need to choose a channel as well as a new instrument.

I appreciate the feedback. As far as changing the channel, if I do that, it changes the channel of the previous track as well. I have been using the track mixer to create new tracks to get around this, but I guess I was just wondering how to do it from the arrange window.

Thanks again
