I have found a lot of ways to add a "wet" quality with reverb and simulate a big room. What if I recorded in a big room and wanted to do the exact opposite and take that effect away. Is there any way to do this? In other words, can I make the recording MORE "dry"? Thanks a lot.

the possibilities depend on what kind of source you're recording ,and how you place the mics,BUT i don't think is gonna sound that clear.you could use a gate together with a lot of volume editing ,but i think is better and quicker to record in a small place or to use a few thick blankets(futons are better)around the source and place the mics in there ,to put some foam behind and on the sides of the mics will also help to get rid of unwanted reflections.
