I used a lacie external hard drive and motu mkll. I get an erro that tells me to save under another file, or on another disk or rename it but nothing seems to work. I did save some of the files as copies and later rename them. Sometimes it lets me save on my desk top but not always.

Seems either you don't have enough room… or you have some permissions problem (user privileges to read/write).
Run Apple drive utility to repair permissions and if you don't let your mac on at night, use OnyX for example to run the maintenance scripts. -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

Check your external hard drive format! Nathan, my trusty motu tech, told me to check my external hard drive format. I thought this woudn't be a problem because I've already put over 60gigs on it, but it was. The drive came standard in ms dos file systems format. I wish Lacie would have said something for newbies like me that you need to reformat your drive when you buy it.

I don't know if someone already mentioned this, but you might need to update the firmware of the external drive. I know that as of panther there was some firewire complications and my Lacie drive needed a firmware update. Hope this helps!
