I posted this on the Plug In forum also.

I had this intermittent problem before on my Powerbook and never figured it out...it just stopped happening due to something I did but I'm not sure what. Now it's happening on my dual 2.0 G5.

My G5 has been rock solid and has worked perfectly since I set it up in February 2005. I've been using an Mbox with an Oxygen 8. I upgraded my usb keyboard last night to a CME UF6, installed the drivers, restarted, launched B4 to test it and although the keyboard triggered the notes, they sounded like dogshit. The same thing happened when I tried Absynth. I restarted and tried it again. This time the instruments sounded like they were supposed to. I launched Pro Tools 6.9 LE. No problem there. I opened Ableton Live...the keyboard works. I opened Garage Band for the hell of it and loaded a song I created using the included loops and it sounded like dogshit. WTF? I closed GB and opened B4. Now the B4 sounds like dogshit again...same for Absynth. I restarted again and everything still sounds like dogshit. I gave up trying to figure it out and went to bed.

has this ever happened to any of you out there?

any ideas anyone?

TIA.

Interesting- I thought that Pro Tools LE was strictly a 44100hz program.
