Hi all

I don't think this is possible but I thought I'd ask anyway....

I have just bought a nice new G5 Dual 2Ghz machine and I;m wondering if I can use the RAM from my G4 in the new G5? I think it's 2x 512MB PC133 SDRAM in the G4.

And lastly....is there a way of using the hard drives from the G4 in the G5 or is mounting them in external firewire cases the only way?

Any ideas?

Cheers

The RAM from your G4 will not work in your new G5. The G5 uses PC3200 (400MHz) DDR RAM.

I'd advise you to put your old ATA drives in a firewire enclosure. There may be some sort of PCI ATA card that you can buy that will work in the G5 however you will need to find somewhere to mount the drives.
