Hello,
I'm trying to get sampletank 2XL to run properly on a Powerbook G4 1.5ghz.
On cubase OR pro tools it only runs 2 instruments (that use 30% vst cpu!) with minimal effects and it collapses into pops and clicks. I've been told that I should see around 16 instruments on that machine.
I've changed ST's preferences to be set for performance rather than quality, and software buffers don't affect it. The instruments are only 4mb each with loads of free RAM spare.
It's the same with core audio or my Firewire 410. All latest drivers. Sampletank version is XL 2.0.8 or XL 2.0.9.
Version 2.0.9 is actually worse with hanging notes etc.
Thanks.

I've had Sample Tank since it came out. It's a great idea but loaded with bugs and efficientcy problems. You will only get 2 or 3 instruments out of it before it locks up and crashes. Never use the double click button on your mouse. Use the single click and hit it twice.
The real solution is to get Kontact 2. The sounds are great, it's easy to use and is much more stable.

best of luck,
chap

Wow,
That's amazing. What a disappointment...
If I can't get more instruments to run it's pretty much useless as it's choking up the whole system and no doubt wouldn't let me load another plugin...

Thanks for the reply.
