lets say i'm working on the scoring and sound design of a short animation that will be released on dvd. The director/studio wants me to provide 5.1 surround for the film.

Will DP be able to bounce this correctly?

do i have to buy a dolby plug in?

any help mucho appreciated. blink.gif

DP will not bounce to surrond sound, but will export 5.1 (6 seperate channels) that you can write surround sound to DVD such Disk Welder or use with Dolby.

If you know somebody with DVD Studio Pro, it has an helper app called Compressor that can encode the DP session into surround.

From my experience most producers will want to encode the audio themselves during the authoring process.
