Hello!

I have a question regarding the virtual instruments in Logic Express. I know how to play and record instruments to tracks in Logic Express but I would like to know how to record playing while changing the sound settings in the same time? I can play the virtual instrument and change the sound properties (for example changing the Cutoff, Resonance, Key etc "on air") while not recording to hear how it sounds with the background, but not when I try to record.. Then I only hear the changes but only the normal notes are recorded and not the changes in the sound properties that I've made and that sounds nice. So after that when I try to listen what I played it only plays the basic notes I pressed on the keyboard.

How can I record the melodies I play WITH changing Cutoff so that it will sound the way I heard it while playing? I am sorry for describing my problem a little bit confuzing but I hope someone understands the situation!

Thank you in advance!

If you have an external midi controller with knobs or sliders you can assign any of them to control any parameter in Logic's instruments and effects in real-time.

It can be achieved via track automation, please study your manual for more info - it has been explained in great detail in the automation section.
