Hey guys,

i want to do field recordings with a Minidisk that has only Line-in. Is there a way (or a little device), to make a microphone work? (I am thinking of a tiny amplifier?)
I searched some shops, but quite difficult because i don´t know what i am looking for!!

Thanks a lot!

Ali

What you are looking for is a battery powered preamp. Below is an example.

I can't vouch for the quality of this particular model or the pricing of that particular website, but it gives you an idea of what you are looking for.

I use an Audio Technica AT822 which plugs directly into my Minidisc recorder through it's mic input, with great results. An outboard preamp such as the one above should be able to connect to your recorder at line level.
