Can anyone direct me toward a soft that runs under Mac OS X that automatically calculates (in relatively acurate manner) the beats per minutes of an audio music file, similar to what Ask the DJ does?
Even better, that would embed the found BPM data in the MP3 tag info ...?
Thank you.

Heh, I don't know of any software that can do this, but you can do it the old school way and use a "Tap Tempo" feature on a metronome and tap it with the beat. You could tap it for like a few seconds, take the result, write it down, repeat that however many times, and take an average? Or you could just do a random guess if you see a number popping up a lot.

Melodyne calculates tempo with enough precision, but if only you want it for that, it would be like having a Rolls to use its ash trays. Melodyne makes very many things and all more very interesting.
