Hiya,

Which Maudio interface are you looking to buy?

Cheers

Here are some (rather obvious) questions to help you clarify the issue:
1. You said you need the interface for mobile recording. Will you only be needing 2 ins? If you need more you might have to look at other devices too.
2. Are you going to need many bussed mixes or mix to 7.1 surround (which PTLE does not support anyway!)?
3. Do you have a firewire port? (yes, I know, silly question, but one that gets overlooked sometimes!)
4. Would you need to record 96kHz (410)? (as apposed to 48kHz - Mbox)

The 410 is going to be the more expensive option seeing that you have to buy PT MPowered, but it does provide you with a lot more features (I particularly like the 2 headphone outs). You also have the option of using a different sequencer later on (Logic etc). I don't know if that is possible with the Mbox as I've never tried it.

Be aware, though, that some users have had bad experiences with the 410. Any 410 users care to comment?

Seeing that the Mbox has been on the market much longer than the 410, I would expect you to find a 2nd hand Mbox more easily.

Personally I've been a Digidesign user/fan for a long time (I've found their support to be excellent), but if you are buying new, I do think that the 410 would give you "more bang for your buck."

Cheers

Martin
