So, I think I'm finally ready to make the leap to a G5. I'm looking at the new 2.0 & 2.3. I'm not too concerned about the processor difference, and I highly doubt I'll ever have more than 4 Gigs of RAM, so for me it comes down to PCI vs PCI-X slots. In CDN $$$ it's almost a $700 diffrence. Getting the PCI-X also means upgrading my MIA to a GINA which is added cost... So, my question is: is the PCI-X really worth all this added investment? Or should I just max out my RAM in my single G4 867? Thanks in advance, .d.

Not much interest, but one day you'll HAVE to upgrade the audio card As PCI-x will stay and simple PCI will disappear. Anyway, for ram, life starts at 512 MB, family house at 1 GB, and paradise over this. For the pissing contest, a mono G5 1,8 is about the same as a double G4 1,42 of in pure crushing number a double G4 2 GHz accelerator And you can upgrade the CPU only and max out RAM.
