This may sound like a silly question but does any one know if I can take a line out of my PowerBook headphone socket, then feed it back in thru the line in socket to record the noises I make???

It seems do-able but I don't want to break my mac...

Basically it depends on the audio recording program you are using. You will have to turn play through, or monitoring off, or all you will get is feedback... This may be able to do this in the control panel,. you are creating a loop afterall... Just be shure to have all volumes and gains turned all the way down, before going down this path.

Thanks man. I am going to use either GB2 or Sound Studio: As long as monitoring is turned off I should be OK right?

I am going to try it... very carefully.

Mah loawd, try out Audio Hijack - you can find it through VersionTracker.com. It will record any audio signal you can hear from within the computer and convert it into a digital file.

I use audio hijack already (it's ace, in fact all of the rogueamoeba.com software is fantastic) but I can't seem to get it to record audio from 2 applications at the same time eg: software synths and Reason)

Any ideas anyone?
