Am seeking advice for making audio recordings using surround sound to create that back and forth all around sound that uses funky noises ....... for making hypnotic type effects in background.... thanks.

Could you be a bit more specific on what you want to know?

But to get you started you need :

1. a set of speakers to go with the surround format of your choice
2. a soundcard that has enough separate outs to meet with all the speakers
3. a mixing program that's capable of handling surround mixing (for instance Logic Pro 7)
4. an encoder to come up with the final audio track to be used in a film etc.

Specifically I am looking for a reasonable system to do audio recordings and have a surround sounding background for self-hypnosis cd's.
I make them already with an older system on my mixer and effects processer... but I want to switch to all digital software if possible....
Thanks again.
