Thank you so much for your reply! There was just one problem that i dont understand.
I created my audio object and selected device: "core audio". Then i created my instrument object in the same enviroment plane.
BUT: My audio object still just says "OFF" when its expanded, and in properties the "channel" part just says "OFF" as well and does not list any channels.
Do you have any idea why it would say that?
I do confess that this was not a totally blank template when i started. There were other midi tracks that were in the arrange window. But, i didnt think it should matter.
Thanks again -alex

You are a wise man! I had been using logic on my powerbook and everything was fine and i couldnt figure out why i was having these problems when i switched to my eMac. i forgot to select "core audio" and "built-in driver" in my logic driver preferences the the eMac. I can now select channels. Thank you so much for reminding me, i had looked past that when i switched computers. lol Yup i followed what you said and everything is wonderful. I cant thank you enough. I would have never remembered. Ill mess with it more tomorrow. (I have to finish studying for a biology test... college is a big problem when your trying to learn "logic") Does the forum support private messages, like if i were to have any other quick questions?
