Hi,
Fristly, I was looking for a cardbus card that could work with Mac / PC / Linux laptops and came across Digigram (based in France, of course!).
Then I remembered that these cards are used a lot in broadcast / ENG / location sound. Btw, fantastic idea to have support for so many platforms, and OS versions going back to 1999!
I noticed they also have a range of PCI cards and I was curious what these would like for multirack recording.
I'm very interested in any "real world" feedback on Digigram cards in general and their suitability for music production - mobile or studio. (quality of DSP, drivers, S/N, clocking /jitter. etc.)
Thanks!
Andre

I'm (or I want to) use VXP440 from this manufacturer, BUT i don't recommend it for Mac users. OS9 drivers doesn't support sleeping, OSX drivers are slow and unoptimized (check CPU usage while playing). And Digigram ALSA drivers doesn't works on Powerbooks at this time.
please read this from the support email:

Hi,
If you already wrote to this email adress, I certainly did the same answer. The VXpocket has been designed in 1997 (8 years !!), this is a slave, non DMA and PCMCIA PCCard bus format. OS X need up to date hardware : Master, DMA, CardBus, ... to get good perfomances, latencies....
We try and release a driver for OS X but getting better performances is I-M-P-O-S-I-B-L-E !!!! We are honest with the customer with that and as You said we recommend to use a "old" operating system to get better performaces. The strange thing is under Windows XP the performances are OK....
Anyway, only for your information we are working on repacing solution.
To answer your question, sell the card to a Windows user, everybody will be happy !
