Line 6 Pod And Pre Sonus Firepod, Line 6 Pod and Pre sonus Firepod Options

Is anyone recording into the Firepod using a Line 6 Pod. When monitoring from the Firepod it seems no matter the configuration or inputs I use I get a sound simular to a noise gate coming on and off . The sound coming from the Line 6 Pod doesn't have the sound , It's very clean coming out Direct, Amp, Headphones, Output left, Output right all perfect, but when it goes through the Firepod it has a sound very similar to a noise gate turning on and off. When I record using a microphone I don't get this sound. It's very clean. Does anyone have any suggestions?
