sorry for this, I'm sure this is probably the 10,000th thread on this topic...but any help would be appreciated.
I'm having a lot of pressure being put on my processor with running DP 4.12. (even hear the processor cranking when the "visualizer" is on with iTunes...???) I will get alert messages, pauses in the I/O process, etc. When adjustments are made to the buffer size (I start at 64 then quickly have to bump up to 128 etc.) I am immediately receiving latency outside of 128. Of course its rather impossible to record via samples and live inst. (no MIDI) with delay. Mono input here....predictably stereo is obviously worse...
15" Powerbook G4 1.33 with 512 RAM M-Audio Firewire 410 DP 4.12
Is the only answer to bump up the RAM?

It's pretty safe to say that just adding RAM won't help you very much. Adding RAM can only reduce disk streaming when using large sample libs. What you need is blunt power mate! And don't we all....
