When I use certain products (Cubase SE in this case), I have the same problem. The situation is (I think) that when you authorize your plugins, the remaining demo ones are marked somehow as inorperable. I use Waves Native Power Pack and that is what has happened to me. It doesn't seem to matter to ProTools 6.x. The only solution I have found is to manually remove the offending plugins. Hope this helps.

You need to download the newest version of Waveshell (WaveShell-AU5.0.1b4 Public Beta).
The older versions won't work with Logic 7.
It is available at the Waves website.

Audio Units validation has nothing to do with plug-in registration.

Do they still "crash" AU validation (or do they "fail")?
On my system my Waves plug-ins pass validation after installing the newest WaveShell. (Ren Comp., Ren EQ., and a few others)

You can tell the AU manager to use them even if they did not pass validtation. Just mark the box next to the name of the plug-in in the AU validator.

You will receive a warning whn you start Logic, that you are using uncompatible Plug-ins, but it should work.

well, when the au manager scanned them a pop up showed for every plugin stating auvul application unexp quit... or something like that. i think i had the o4 wave shell in the folder with the new one so i ll try taking it out... i just talked to waves tech support today. but the new wave shell crashes my peak editor. waves said you have to use the old wave shell for peak and the new one for logic 7... which and official version will be released in a few days from what i understand. but this sucks.. everytime i want to use peak, gotta take one out and put the other in... and vice versa....

bummer

OK.
I was wandering why Peak wouldn't work any more on my computer - I guess that's why.
Yeah, it's a pain in the ass, but hopefully they'll release the updated Waveshell soon.
