I am thinking about purchasing either an Alesis Multimix 8USB or an Alesis Multimix 16USB with Cubase LE or Garageband and I was wondering if you would record 8 instruments in each channel of the mixer would it record all of the channels into one track or all channels into its own track? I read somewhere that if it is ADAT it would put them in their own tracks, but I am unsure if these are ADAT or not and I want it to be able to record 8 individual tracks. Please help.
Any advice even mildly related to this topic would be helpful.

Thanks,
andrew

Hello Andrew, i actually started this same topic a while back. Despite not having any input on it, i went ahead to buy the 8 track mixer. First and foremost, it comes with cubase LE, so being a USB mixer, that totally omit the need of having an ADAT, secondly it records individual tracks into cubase. They do have a manual to hook up your mixer to cubase. I have yet to try it on any other software.

go dig around and see if there are any additional info you can obtain. smile.gif wish i can help more.

cheers
