Hi all,
I have a Powerbook G4 which is running on Panther. I am a music arranger by profession and i was trying to install a music software known as the Digital Performer version 4.0. The installation needs me to key in the key code provided by the sofware maker so that i can run the application. I am currently unable to complete the process cos after keying the code, the Key Code window appears again. And it happens every time i try to key in the code again. Can anyone please kindly advice me on what is going on? Thanks |

If it shows your name and asks for a code below that, then it is asking for your password for the computer, not the software. If it does not show your name and is actually asking for the keycode, then it is a different problem. Scroll around and see if it gives you some kind of message why it is not accepting the code. I had problems with my install as well (on Jaguar) where it was giving the message that it was a demo and the demo time had expired although it was a brand new copy. I wound up having to get tech support involved, but was able to resolve the problem with their help.

Hi,
I have the following problem. When I run the digital performer i get a box with the following: "Please make sure the digital performer installer disk is in your cd drive then enter your name and key code.~ Name:------ Key code: ------ (...)" The thing is that I have the serial code but when i enter this box never disapears and continues there. I have bought my computer second hand and this software was already installed. What can i do to activate this program please? Thanks. Polo |

I just went through the transfer of a DP license and it has to be done via a form by the original owner. You might try to use that name instead of your own for now but you really should get the original owner to transfer the license. It is a pain but required for upgrades, support, etc.
Thanks -- Jeff |

DP4 will not authorize without the original install disk present, a copy-protection scheme. The files needed are hidden and locked on the disk. A buddy of mine copied the disk but it didn't work.
The disk must also be present for any updates. -------------------- G-Dub

I had similar problem this summer though I run osx 10.2
What had happened is that I changed the timezone on the computer in System Preferences. When I changed it back to my orginal time zone it worked again without the prompt mike |
