Hey, I hope I put this topic in the right forum... I have a Fostex VF08 (cheapie, I know) that I use for live playback stuff for my band. Problem is, it´s starting to behave really weird when I try to back up by burning CDs straight from the Fostex itself: The actual burning process seems to work fine, but when I attempt to load the backup to check its integrity, it´ll take FOREVER, and two different things have happened so far: 1. The backup turned out to be missing one of the stereo channels (track 7/8 are stereo) so it sounded retarded. This happened every time i tried to load it, and I don´t know if this problem occured during backup or upload. Since it cunsumed the same amount of space on the backup CDs as the original. That one track is simply gone. 2. The upload had to be terminated because it was taking insanely long (like several minutes per meg, and it was about 1500 megs in all to be loaded), and upon restart, the Fostex freaks and locks itself on the format page, claiming the disk is unformattted, so I had no choice but to reformat and start from scratch :-( The CD burner is an external SCSI CDR: PRO One made by ONE Technologies. The same happened when I tried backing up to a 40gB SCSI hard drive as well (a Bridge Smart Cabinet, ARS2000 SCSIDE made by Acard) I have been to Fostex´s site and checked compatible CD Recorders, and they only list one, so obviously that´s useless. If anyone has had similar problems, or know the nature of this problem I´d like to know what it is. /Papajuju
