hi, mac-muzoes
can anyone spare a few moments to post their advice on best usb audio interface - compatible with OS X 10.3.6
running on ibook 1.2 G4

If possible, I would suggest using a firewire interface versus USB. My current "road" system is an iBook G4 933 and a MOTU 896 interface. I run Logic 6 on it and it works great! You can probably find an 896 on eBay for $600-$800. Hope this helps!

my only advice is don't be suckered into buying an Mbox. I made that mistake because Pro Tools WAS cool in OS 9! Now I am a lookin' Firewire. The Motu 828 is supposed to be awesome (either the Mark I or II) or the new Presonus Firepod and Firebox look cool.

I've been looking at Firebox myself but they aren't out yet. They look interesting. PreSonus website says December and when I queried PreSonus about it they're still saying December but late in the month.
