Coool is the word, but it's mine miiiiiiine (crazy rictus %)
To be back on topic, the best would be if Paul could tell us what he wants to record. The mic port is definetly not the way to go except for a lofi effect (my god %) or if he has NO money to buy a small audio interface. So for voices or guitars, a decent preamp is the way to go too. the mixer if there is one… For 'the professionnal sound' (what a LLLLLAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEE subject) there is also the mastering thing. but it's something completly different. First have something good IN the computer. OUT is a different subject (Again, oh no!) For the book, as all the moderator, I'm way to lazy to write one. MacMusic users must still have something to do…

To the Tune Of I've got a brand new combine harvester.
OOOOHH I got a brand new martian ray gun, i'll give you the key. Its got lots and lots of flashy lights on, i wonder what they do.
