Hi everyone,I am a student working for his Masters degree. My final year project consists of an online-survey about audio software. Not many people participated in this survey since it is online and that makes me sleepless. By the way, a lottery will be held under all survey participants. Please help me out! This is the link to the surveyThanking you very much in advance. Santa

I am impressed with NI Sounds.
I am unimpressed with on-line tech support from NI
I am able to get through to NI US Support phone on occassion and they are pleasant and good. When I am able to speak to someone other than tech in the US office -- they are pleasant and knowledgeable -- but seem to be bound by rigid rules - von Deutchland.
I am TOTALLY unimpressed by NI crossgrade and upgrade prices when multiple (Quantum Leap) packages are in place...and there are way too many bug reports and misfits to various sequencers being discussed by users in a multitude of forums.
I am surprisedthat NI has not been very helpful or forthcoming in how to use equitably priced full versions of their samplers to support all those vartious sound packages.
I own NI Kompakt -- which seems to have fallen out of favor for support and Build. I also own part versions of Kontakt in three sound packages, Intakt in others. I would like to consolidate function via Logic with fewer NI Plug-ins. I keep having to register parts of Kontak and Kompakt for GPO, E-W Quantum Leap Packages -- which are great sounds. I am almost afraid to figure how many pieces of Kompakt, Intakt and Kontakt are scattered on my drive to support those packages.
Maybe it is a language difficulty -- or my naivety in expecting open service to proiven customers -- or misinterpretation of the policy of NI in wishing to keep "non full time professionals" who do not speak proper musician techie away from their products.
As an older US user( I am on social security) I prefer to go with better sounds (like GPO, Metamorphasis. Kompakt and Storm Drum). But the barriers in trying to get the most complete use of the NI sounds system via upgrade or crossgrades is barred to me by price -- even though my dealers and reps have tried working something out.
They (several of them, not known to each other) have indicated that NI is rigid to them if they are not to "get into trouble." I have heard them more than once on this. This does shade my opinion of the company --- along with very slow and incomplete on-line tech support from the German headquarters.
I only started phoning the US Support people after waiting (average) 2-3 days for answers from the main site-- answers often which were not relevant to the problem I presented to them. May have been my poor communication but follow-up response was not answered.
I quit ALL Steinberg purchases BECAUSE of rotten and non-responsive tech support...coming late. This has crossed my mind with NI -- but the sounds are irreplacable once you get them working.
I am trying to work out why a Kontakt portion of Storm drum is showing up as a freee standing ap -- but cannot be called up in Logic Pro 7. I have not called their support people here -- trying to solve it on my own if the instaler did not place things correctly. But my premomition is that adding soo many part versions of Kompakt has created a conflict that needs to be resolved.
