I get a freeze, when I force quit, I sometimes see the above message, the numbers are sometimes different. I'm using 0S 9.2.2 on a quicksilver G4 with an audiophile 2496 card, I sometimes use Live as a rewire slave. I have just done a complete re install, even zeroed the drive, to fix another persistant problem and this one has now emerged. I can't think of anything that is different from before the zero.Any ideas?

TIA Nick

Apple talk off?
Virtual memory off?

Is their a special reason for you not to use OSX?

Hi thanks for your reply Eric. I have turned them off. The reason I don't use os x on the music comp is the expense of all the new stuff I would have to buy to get back to where I am, and convenience really, MESA won't work with it I doubt, I like to script the sampler, makes it much less time consuming. I don't know whether my scsi cards will work either or if my synth editor will work under classic. I could do some research and figure all this and other stuff out or I could do some recording instead. I find X on the laptop glacially slow, 55 secs from request to shutdown! I'm sick of that BLOODY beachball! When I open windows on the os 9 comp it's so fast compared to the laptop. Looking at the apps, Apple seems intent on isolating us from our files with X, I suspect the finder will vanish soon, the finder seems easier to use on 9 really.

Regards, Nick.

Well I actually use a Blue G3 400/512 and find it to be faster in OS X (Panther) then 9...
Once I got used to the new OsX finder (that took very little time) I could just not come back to 9 wondring how I ever did blink.gif

I found all the drivers and update using www.versiontracker.com
I did have to paye for a few apps updates but found it to be pretty valuable.

Also I must say that OSX is Rock solid. Never crashes the system.
If an app crashes (microsoft explorer) just force quit but don't have to reboot the system.

Yeah, well I had to do it over christmas, X is better on my slower tower system, strange that. Still not back to where I was before christmas though. I got away without spending TOO much.

Regards, Nick.
