I am totally new to making music on computers (have done some guitar and bass playing but that's about it in the past). Initially, I want to be able to put together song ideas/basic demos, but may be interested in getting into more serious digital music making later on.
At the moment, all I have is a Powerbook G3 Firewire with Cubase: I am not particularly piano/keyboard literate, and am interested to know if I can do anything worthwhile without any external hardware at all, and if there is any other software I need to do it. Any help much appreciated. Thomas |

Hi Thomas v,
I suppose that you've already got an adio in interface. Now days it is not nessasary to know anything about keyboards. A good midi sequencer and a nice rack mount sound module is all you need. The cubase should have a sequencer. Get a midi interface, and you're on your way! Everything can be written out on the piano role in the sequencer. You should already have some comand of cords, playing guitar and bass. You can also make drum tracks with the sequencer. I prefer to use virtual drummer for that, but water floats your boat! -------------------- kaboombahchuck
