Hey everybody. I hope one of you can help me out... I am new to the art of digital recording, and of course, I am extremely confused. I recently purchased a G4 Laptop, Logic Platinum 5 Sequencer, and a Pro Tools Mbox. I figured the Mbox would work prefectly with the laptop, because of its portability and USB support etc. I have a RODE condensor Mic running through the Mbox (with phantom power) which I record from. Recording seems to work fine in Pro Tools LE, yet Logic gives me many problems. I have installed all the latest updates for the both Logic and ProTools. Logic (using Direct I/O driver) will not give me any sound levels and will only record at extremely low volume no matter what the gain in the MBox is set to. Is the Mbox just not compatible with Logic? Are there any alternatives that I have to record to my laptop other than using my Mbox? Please help me understand how to get a nice, clear, clean recording with my Mic into my laptop with Logic! If I have to scrap the Mbox, let me know! What other hardware could I use? PLEASE HELP! =)

Hello Seth!

This is Heliq from Japan...
Mbox is available for only Protools softwareLE.
But you don't have to worry...

So you just import OMF file.
LOGIC 5 is compatible import/export OMF file.
DESIDESIGN Digi Translator can covert protools Session file to OMF file with all region information.
So you don't have to bounce one track by track....
If you just want to import Audio files you recorded with Mbox, you don't need any other software and hardware. Just import from your Hard disk!

I recommend following steps

1.You record audio with Mbox and protools softwareLE.
2.Just import audio file you recorded to Logic5 without any edit.
3.Edit audio with Logic

That's it!

Thanks for your help! I will try importing/exporting OMF files. I actually did get the Mbox to record very well with Logic by using the Propagamma ASIO driver. I like using Logic because of the ease with which it handles all my audio plug-ins. (It also has a beautiful interface) Otherwise I would use PTLE =)

Thanks again
