I am new to the Audio scene all together. I took a few classes in college about this subject. The station I was using had an Audio Media 3 card. Now that I am creating my own studio at home, I have done some research and found that the AM3 cards are very affordable. However, I don't know if they are compatable with my newer (blue and white) G4. which AM3 card fits the G4? Do I need special software drivers to install it? if so, how do I get them?
Thanks for your info |

From recent experience I will share a couple of things to watch out for. I have an AUdio Media III card that I was trying to sell. It was an older card. Turns out that cards with 'Q' in the serial number have to be updated to use with the new macs. Easy enough - that is if you have the cash and are willing to spend it to mail your card to DigiDesign, have them update it, then more cash for re-registering and such. I still have the card if you are interested, but you might be better off going to DegiDesign's web site, protools.com, and check out their new products. Good luck.

I heard about the q serial number thing as well. I looked at the card but couldn't find which chip to look on. I'm having some difficulties with an AM III and a G4 867. Probably will go with something newer anyway, but until then t'would be nice to use this setup
