I am thinking of upgrading my Audio interface, and would like recomendations. I currently use an M-Audio FW410, which is OK, but probably not the strongest link in my set-up. I've been looking at Motu 828 mkII and Metric Halo 2882 (without DSP) I use a 12" 1Ghz Powerbook which doesn't have PCMCIA, so therefore only Firewire Interfaces are relevant. I'm looking for something with at least 8 i/O and ADAT expansion. I use OS X Panther, Logic 6.3.3 and Ableton Live. At the moment I'm leaning towards the Motu 828, because of the great price and impressive features, but I would like comments from anyone who has tried these interfaces, or others in the same pricerange. Thanks, Morten

I use the MOTU 828mkII with almost the same configuration as you. I use OSX 10.3.4 (just switched from 10.2.6), Logic Pro, and Live 3. I run three synths (Yamaha S90, Korg Karma, Planet Earth), a Parker Fly Deluxe and a Studio Projects mike into it....and Alesis MK1 actives out of it. It has operated seamlessly and re;liably sinced I purchased it last October. I have noting to compare it to soundwise, nor am I so sophisticated that I could compare it to other devices, but it sounds great to me!
