Hi,

I'm working on an entry for Digiki's Kitchen remix contest (http://mapage.noos.fr/castellane/remix.html), and I want to do some stuff with software I'm still unfamiliar with.

Basically, I want to take a long-ish audio sample, chop it up, and assign each piece a pitch and placement from the bassline of a midi file. I have at my disposal a full version of Recycle, Protools LE, Reason Adapted, and Live Adapted (or whatever the version of Live is that comes free with Protools LE). I don't have an external sampler, or a lot of cash to buy full versions of software.

I've started by making the file into an .rx2, but beyond that I'm stumped. I thought Reason would let me do it, but there doesn't seem to be a way to import a MIDI file in the Adapted version. I can import a MIDI file into Protools LE, but have no idea what to do with it beyond that.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Channing

You can export a midi file from Recycle that will trigger each slice. then you can edit the midi file.
