Evolution Uc33: No Midi Signal In Ableton Live, ... Options

i've just bought a uc33 and haven't been able to make
it work with ableton live 1.5 (nor any other software)
iam running a iMac G3 and mac os 9.2, and everything seems to be correctly installed, the controller appears in OMS setup and in
ableton midi sync/input preferences - but live does
not receive any midi signal as i touch the controller
(the "I" midi button would be supposed to be
highlighted) ; i've tried to configure it by pressing
the midi map mode, still no midi signal ; i've checked
almost everything, all info on ableton site, tried it
with live 3 demo and the downloaded uc33 presets, its
always the same problem, no midi seem to be
transmitted to the computer..
maybe i should test the controller with another
software/demo but which one i have no idea..
