How do I get an MP3 into Garageband? Ideally I'd like to be able to chop it up and put the samples into a song, again in GB.

Thanks for any help.

Just drag an mp3 (not aac) from the finder onto the timeline - drag to an empty area beneath any existing tracks. This will make an aiff copy and will add this to your library - so you can chop it up.
Hope this helps
