I am receiving a 1ghz g4 powerbook w/ 256mb ram . I would like to know what are my limits on running logic and other programs.
I want to get maximum performance. Would installing 2GB RAM be the answer? Would upping it to only 2 512's suffice? Where should I be spending my money?

Stuffing it full of as much RAM as possible is probably the first thing to do. After that, maybe a separate hard drive for the audio files and a FireWire interface. But more RAM, definitely. Anything over 1Gb should be plenty (that's what I have in my PowerMac G4), but 2Gb couldn't hurt if you can afford it.
