hello,
i got a few questions: 1.i want to know what i have to do to record my voice via an external mic with a new ibook, which has only usb for input. 2.how can i achieve that i can hear one track via headset and record a new track via mic. does it work with usb? 3.would you suggest me to buy a new ibook(with usb input) or rather buy an used powerbook(which has an mic-in). my main interests are in design an multitrack-recording. thanks a lot for helping me! mavel |

You need a little thing called a Griffin iMic (about $30) to get audio into your USB port - or you could buy a Telex USB microphone. I would go with the iBook, not the used PowerBook. You'll get a lot more computer for your money, and the iMic is probably higher quality than the built-in audio on the PB (which can only do 16bit audio, I think the iMic does 20 or 24bit).
