Hi all,

Since my cell phone uses .mid files (which I understand are MIDI files) for ring tones, I was wondering: is there any way to capture the MIDI stream(?) from my keyboard to a .mid file? I have this one tune stuck in my head and I want to make a ring tone out of it.
My Casio keyboard connects to my powerbook via a USB-Midi adapter, so I guess I really just need the answer to the software end of things. I'd like to play the piece on my Casio keyboard while it records on my Mac, then export that to a .mid file. Garageband (which I love) has no way to do this, apparently.

Any ideas/suggestions? How do the folks who create ring tones do it?

Thanks,
Sohail Mamdani
