hello. I know people talk alot about audio cards and midi inputs in this forum..but i cant find info specific to my situation. Basically...ive decided to get the new G4 733 tower. But i dont know if it comes with a decent sound card already built in. I am buying the computer for the sole purposes of recording my music and doing artwork with audio..so sound is important obviously. The cost of the computer itself is basically gonna make me broke..so id like to not have to spend much more if possible. So anyone know if i need to get a soundcard for this computer...and if so.. any suggestions on a fairly cheap (under $100 hopefully) but good quality soundcard or sound input. I need one midi in also...dont know if midi comes with most soundcards or not. I would probably only record one sound at a time..maybe two if possible. so basically can anyone help me find the cheapest way to have audio and midi input? thanks so much for your time. justin

the audio card of the mac ( they are all the same, from imac to ibook to towers ... ) is O.K
but you have not any input, only output ; and no midi .
you can buy a imic , it's cheap ...
but you'll need a midi gizmo . roland make one usb/midi ... pretty cheap .
but if you want to really do the trick ...
go for a second hand G3 mac beige or white and blue, or and old G4 tower ) and buy you a decent audiocard . like an audiomedia III . or a delta one .
you'll still need the midi gizmo ;
except if you buy ( expensive ! ) a digi 001
733 is not a good one ! prefer a second hand 400 for example ! really ! and you'll get an audio input ... there is only a year or so that apple put them away ... perhaps you'll only need the midi by the fact . !
