Hello - tried my luck on the other forums. G4 power mac 466mhz, 512 MB RAM running logic pro, stylus etc, blah, blah

I get excellent use out of Logic, hours at a time etc but EVERY time (after I've closed and saved all my work) I quit the application it freezes/crashes maybe 10 seconds later, before I can even think about shutting down. In fact I have to wait for it to freeze, press the restart button and wait for the computer to boot up again before I can shut down. This is really bad new for my equipment surely? It seems like the problem is guaranteed to happen if I have been using midi previously. I've also had message errors indicating an internal data loop - is this midi trouble too?

Someone help - please!!? Extensions conflict - maybe, I dont know??!! sad.gif

Are you in OS9? or OSX. any way trash your preferences and make a new default song.

If you are in OSX repair permissions with the disk utility.

Are you using a USB hub? I had months of problems where my G4 under OSX wouldn't shut down properly and I had to do a button restart.

I noticed a USB hub was not lighting up as expected on startup....it was a cheap no-name brand - I replaced it and the problem was gone immediately.

Good luck

PS you need to give more information if you want more help

I've had the same problem with a bad hub. If you're using one, try unplugging and check the results.
